Powervault is leading the way in the development of intelligent electricity storage products for the modern “smart home”. Powervault’s systems are designed to help customers lower their energy bills, increase their consumption of locally-generated electricity, and reduce their carbon footprint. Powervault’s products can store solar energy or off-peak electricity from the grid and optimise the use of this electricity in the home to maximise efficiency. Powervault aims to help accelerate the move towards a more decentralised electricity network, enabling energy consumers to reduce their dependency on coal-fired power stations by reducing and/or shifting peaks in demand.
Powervault is a British business, which launched its first energy storage product for the residential market in 2015. It has won a number of awards, including ‘Disruptor of the Year’ at the British Small Business Awards 2017 and ‘Innovator of the Year’ at the BusinessGreen Technology Awards in 2015.
Powervault have delivered many firsts for the UK home energy storage market, including: the first fully integrated all-in-one unit in 2015; the first storage + time-of-use electricity tariff offering with Green Energy UK; a first-of-a-kind Second Life product made from electric vehicle batteries; and a patent to design the first truly “plug & play” storage device.
